What are the similarities and differences between the field or approach of community health and public health?
Also, how would the two approaches be similar or different with regard to preventing underage drinking?
I know that public health concerns the health of everyone and involves activities such as surveillance, monitoring and enforcement of health laws and policies to ensure the health of the population and community health is concerned with a certain geographic location or characteristic of the population. Community health is usually involved with more health promotion, health education and health services stuff. However, I’m not quite sure how the two fields or approaches would address preventing underage drinking.
If you have any comments or advice, it would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Although both public health and law enforcement protect the public, the approach and nature of the work performed in the two disciplines are quite different. The similarities and differences in public Health and law enforcement investigations have to be understood and coordinated so that both can be most effective ( Table ). Public health investigations generally take an inductive approach. Persons are interviewed, data are collected, hypotheses are developed to explain transmission, and epidemiological and laboratory studies are conducted to test these hypotheses. If the studies confirm the hypothesis, prevention and control strategies are developed, implemented, and evaluated. All this work is held to the standard of scientific peer review, generally through presentation of data at scientific meetings and publication in a scientific journal.

What type of health insurance should I get?
I am a male and a non smoker, but I have had Epilepsy since I was in high school. I need a health insurance for my health. However, I do not know much which type of the health insurance Health group, Community Health Plan or KPS Health plan is good for me in Washington State in the US. Now I don’t have a job and I am independent. Would someone give me hand?
If you have epilepsy, then no health insurance company is going to want you as a customer.
You have three options:
1) Live in one of the approximately four states where health insurance companies must take everyone who is willing to pay
2) Get a job that comes with health insurance
3) Get whatever your state offers to anyone who cannot get insurance any other way because of existing medical conditions
Do not waste time looking at different policies that all have the option to reject you, because they all will.
